A man known by the alias “Morroco,” who has spent over 13 years as a guerrilla fighter, has turned himself in to authorities in the town of Puerto Rico, Meta, Colombia.
Founder of the Camilo Torres front, Morroco was known within FARC as an explosives expert who spent several years manufacturing and installing mines in the battlefield. He is said to have also been tasked with medical duties and served as a sniper.
Upon surrender, Morroco cited serious health concerns as the reason for laying down his arms.
