EspañolAt this time, the presidential elections in El Salvador have proceeded as planned, according to local newspapers El Mundo and La Prensa Gráfica. Similarly, international observers and the Supreme Elections Tribunal (TSE) have not reported any violence related to the electoral process.
Candidates and members of opposing political parties almost universally put on a cordial appearance and various competitors even appeared together on television programs and at voting centers.
Nor have there been incidents regarding access to voting. Only El Mundo reported complaints from ARENA representatives during the morning. They alleged that Mayor Luz Estrella Rodríguez was persuading people to vote for FMLN at the Colonia La Ermita school polling center in San Salvador province.
