EspañolFormer Cuban President Fidel Castro reappeared in public at an art opening in Havana on Wednesday. It was the first time he had been seen in public since April of 2013, when he attended a school inauguration.

Castro is 87 years old and stepped down from government in 2006. His public appearance coincides with the 55th anniversary of his march to the island’s capital in 1959, to take over the government.
