Spanish.- Fani Willis, district attorney of Fulton County, Georgia, used a recent public appearance to try to defend herself against accusations of having an affair with another official in the case she is leading against former President Donald Trump. In her speech, she did not directly mention the scandal but still took the opportunity to use her skin tone and gender to shield herself from the allegations.
“You can’t expect Black women to be perfect and save the world. We need to be allowed to stumble,” said Willis in an attempt to justify an attitude for which she is accused by Michael Roman, a former employee of the ex-president who is included in the case for allegedly attempting to manipulate the 2020 elections in Georgia.

It’s not just about an affair; Fani Willis allegedly authorized the payment of over $600,000 to Nathan Wade to serve as a special prosecutor in her office. Therefore, the self-proclaimed Democratic prosecutor had to come out and say that she appointed three special advisers, “something she was entitled to,” and paid “all three the same fee,” but she neither confirmed nor denied the romantic relationship.
Special prosecutor without experience
If the affair and the high payment are true, the prosecutor would not only be incurring in a conflict of interest but her justification does not differ from the repeated behavior among her party colleagues and supporters of the progressive agenda. For example, New York City Mayor Eric Adams claimed that “race played a factor in news coverage” about him, supposedly because he is Black. However, Adams forgets that much of the news surrounding him is due to inefficient management that sent the wrong message and now faces consequences, such as the saturation of shelters due to the migrant crisis he contributed to promoting by supporting President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris during the electoral campaign.
Therefore, Willis will have to respond in writing to the accusation on February 2. Subsequently, on February 15, she is called to appear before Scott McAffee, the judge overseeing the case against Trump in Georgia.
Just as the prosecutor scrutinized the former Republican president, the House Judiciary Committee is now demanding documents from Nathan Wade, Willis’s alleged lover, related to the investigation and prosecution of Trump in which he would be working. A significant detail in Michael Roman’s accusation is that Wade “had never handled a trial for serious crimes” before.
