Starting tomorrow and continuing through the weekend, students from throughout Latin America will participate in the first ever Estudiantes por la Libertad conference, as a regional division of Students for Liberty. It is at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago, a location the organizers describe as “a true reference point for liberty for the rest of Latin America.”
They assert that student activism in this realm has grown exponentially in the past few years, and they are bringing people together to explore and share opportunities and tactics. There will be lineup of prominent conference speakers from the Americas, including Gabriela Calderon of Ecuador — editor of El Cato.
The organizers expect 300-400 attendees, and have they shared with the PanAmerican Post that at least 50 students have arrived a day in advance of the event.
