The government of the province of Buenos Aires has authorized a six-year-old boy to make a nominal change — specifically a change to his sex on his national identity card. The young boy has personally identified as a female from a young age and has the support of family members.

The Homosexual Community of Argentina (CHA) president, Cesar Cigliutti, says that the boy’s name on the ID will read “Lulu,” and this change will be the first ever to not go through the judicial process.
