Wayra, the international startup accelerator from the Spanish telecommunication company Telefónica, has announced a new partnership with MercadoLibre, the leader in electronic commerce in Latin America, to encourage the development of new technological companies in the region.

Both companies have provided support for the creation of an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Argentina. Due to the successful experience with the development of online platforms and mobile applications in that country, the Telefónica’s branch has managed to associate with Mexican MercadoLibre in 2013 to expand the financial, advisory, and technical aid to 155 entrepreneurs for a sum up to US$8.2 million in Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico.
