Kyungshin-Lear Honduras Electrical Distribution Systems has been penalized for letting its employees go to the bathroom only once through a nine-hour working day. They allegedly forced them to wear diapers in order to avoid missing time producing car parts for Hyundai and Kia vehicles.
Thirty inspectors from the Honduran Ministry of Employment have corroborated the complaint. Although the president of the company and the Honduran president of the maquilas (assembly) association have denied the accusation, claiming the government is trying to hustle them out of the country.
