If You Are Reading This … You ARE the Resistance

In the fourth installment of the “Terminator” series, hero John Conner transmits a regular radio broadcast to humans fighting “Skynet” and the machines. He ends his broadcast: “if you are hearing this, you are the resistance.” From that movie to others like “Serenity,” “The Matrix,” “Star Wars,” “Battlestar Galactica,” and even the arguably Marxist “V for Vendetta,” there is a common thread: people fighting for freedom against an oppressive regime.

History is filled with the message too. The French Revolution, the American Revolution, and many more have built on the theme of freedom from oppression and freedom for the people. The message, however, isn’t always used for the purpose and cause of liberty.

Keanu Reeves’s role in “The Matrix” challenged the way we perceive the world around us, to take the red pill and question the status quo. (FansShare)

In fact, in communist countries like Cuba and Venezuela, the call to arms against evil oppressors is shouted from the rooftops of the party headquarters. In America and the west there are also calls to free us from the evil of capitalism. Freedom, what is that?

Such drones in these places, programmed by years of intentionally neglectful education, set out on their orders to exterminate or shut down the evil humans who dare to question the almighty central computer of government.

Though we are outnumbered, outspent, and outgunned, we are not outthought. Hope is still alive in the anger and rage we feel when we see the central-computer propaganda ministers spouting out the official position. They don’t intend to inform; they intend to tell you how you should think and shame you if you defy them. Some succumb to the brainwashing; others awaken to find the world in a shambles.

Many of us sense it: something is not right with the world and our countries. Something is missing in the eyes of our fellow humans, and in their hearts. We watch zombie movies only to realize the zombies are already here, staggering blindly in search of blood and following the hordes of doom. Their hollow words echo like the grunts of the undead, mystically following some instinct to the edge of madness.

Some of us wake up. Some of us take the red pill and see the world for what it really is and what it has become. Once we see it, we can’t go back. We can’t just pretend it isn’t there.

Accepting the reality of the world as it is can be a fast way to lose friends, jobs, and even futures. Dare you mention the truth, and your peers will look upon you with disdain, turn their backs, or angrily attack. You can forget that promotion, and sometimes, you can forget your own interpersonal relationships, even marriages.

If you have awoken from the dream into the nightmare of what is really happening, it is very easy to feel that you are alone — especially based on the response you get from others who are still wired into the system. You are now an outcast, forgotten, even ridiculed. Some who have tried to take the red pill have become so disenfranchised that they spit it up, run for cover, and call it a “phase.”

It is not a passing phase, it is real. We do live in a police state in every nation across the globe. We are lied to on a daily basis by our governments. There are nefarious plans to do away with what is left of liberty.

You have a sense that something is coming. It is the sixth sense that comes from having woken up from the sleep. It is like standing on the edge of a cliff; you know it is there, why can’t others see it?

I write to you today to let you know you are not alone. You are one of legions of freedom fighters. You are not an outcast; you are a leader. Your efforts are not lost or wasted; they are tremors in a greater effort to move the earth and its people. Yours is the voice that others hear when they begin to awake. You are the muffled sound that disturbs their deep sleep.

When you scream at the television upon realizing the propaganda that is force fed through music, TV shows, and movies, you are the resistance. When you speak up in a conversation against misrepresentations, challenge the online narrative, or think before you vote, you are a foot soldier in the army of resistance.

If you are a campus libertarian, you are the educator of tomorrow’s leaders. If you are a woman against statist feminism, you are the liberator of women from the mind control of thoughtless Marxism. If you are a men’s rights advocate, you are the one who explains that liberty cannot exist if rights only benefit one half of the population. If you are blogger or a video blogger, a writer or a journalist, you are the Paul Revere of our day, riding and calling on all to awaken and prepare for the battles ahead.

If you are a “prepper,” you are the shelter for future generations. If you are an “oath keeper,” you are the most important teacher for all young students: you teach integrity and courage. If you are a gun owner, you are a defender of the republic and the first line of defense against criminals.

You are not alone; you are among the legions of heroes, fighting the war against tyranny.

From the streets of Venezuela, to the highways of Hong Kong, people are rising up. From the Libertarian Latina to the PanAm Post to thousands of YouTube Bloggers, people are speaking up. From the bloodstained sidewalks of Tiananmen Square to the hollowed fields of Gettysburg, people are remembering, awakening, and voicing the notes to the songs of freedom.

As the chorus rises and grows, there will be no place on earth that has not heard the trumpets. No one will have any excuse for not having heard. What the future holds for us exactly, I cannot say; but whether we find ourselves in Free Cities in Central America, on floating cities on the ocean, or raising the flag of liberty over every capitol city in the world, we are not alone. We are the legions for liberty, and we shall prevail.
