EspañolUnited States President Donald Trump said he and his country have good relations with Mexico, but that it is necessary to build the border wall nonetheless in order to stop the smuggling of drugs and weapons.
“We have a very good relationship with Mexico,” President Trump told reporters on Monday at the White House. “But there are a lot of problems. We don’t want the drugs. We do not want the crime. We need the wall.”
Initial funds for the wall have already been approved, White House officials said, as President Trump and his administration made the project a legislative priority in a list sent to Congress a few days ago.
Last week, the White House reported that President Trump said he would support immigration relief for more than 800,000 DACA participants — or dreamers — on the condition that Congress approve all of the funds for a construction of the border wall.

Trump also reportedly plans to ask for changes to immigration laws related to loopholes allowing certain family members to protect immigrants with the citizenship of a relative. “We are going to ask Congress to ensure that any proposal for immigration reform end the migration chain,” President Trump said.
President Trump said that the elimination of this type of immigration is critical to create a system that puts US taxpayers ahead of illegal workers.”
